Alabama Otey

$125.00

Here at Groundhog Hickory Golf, we specialize in pre 1935 hickory clubs, but a few rare makers continued to use hickory for decades after steel shafts started to dominate golf. One maker was Otey Crisman out of Selma, Alabama. This particular example dates to the 1950s. I refinished it colors evocative of Alabama, crimson, grey, black and white. The head is mallet style, with a 6 degree loft and is pretty balanced with a B6 swing weight. The original hickory shaft is 34.75 inches long and was sanded, stained, and shellacked. The grip is black garment leather with Irish waxed linen whipping thread.
